Squashed blossoms
Some chit-chat on FB led by Ponyboy Press led me to search for more info on elongated coins, aka pressed pennies. I've really overlooked them as cool objects.
I have a handful around here somewhere, but after a brief search, I only managed to turn up two. One is from the Cadbury factory in Hobart, made for a couple of bucks from an aluminium blank—defacing money is illegal in Australia—and one is made the budget way: by putting it on a train track and letting the train do the work. (This one was done by a tourist steam engine in New Hope, Pennsylvania, quite some time ago.) I know I've got at least one from the Empire State Building, and also a couple from the Santa Barbara Zoo...will keep hunting...
Got any lying around your house? Where from?
